Dear friends and colleagues,

SOBA is dedicated to serving as a representative voice for healthcare providers specialising in the care of patients with obesity, as well as experts in the field of bariatric medicine. We are committed to advocating for their interests and views, collaborating closely with leading UK societies and our patient advocates.

We offer a platform for practitioners interested in obesity care to engage, share insights, and foster communication. SOBA encourages the establishment of research networks and sets forth guidelines to ensure the safe management of patients with obesity, aiming for the highest standards of perioperative care.

Further, in partnership with the Royal College of Anaesthetists, we promote educational initiatives and training programs to enhance the skills of anaesthetists and related medical professionals. Through these efforts, we strive to advance best practices and disseminate new knowledge within the community.
