On behalf of the nearly 58,000 members of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), I am pleased to welcome you to the 2025 APSS-ROBAC combined conference. Since its inception more than a century ago, ASA has prioritized patient safety as an essential aspect of its mission. Anaesthesia care is substantially safer today than it was at the origin of our speciality; safety improvements continue today. Conferences such as APSS-ROBAC, in which best practices and novel treatments can be discussed and disseminated, facilitate the continued improvement in the safety and quality of the care we provide to our patients.
